A full day devoted to the painters of the Riviera, led by an art historian guide from Pacôme's partner network, from the museums of Nice to Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
Matisse, Chagall, Renoir, Picasso and Léger chose the Riviera to live and work, and their houses, chapels and foundations are still here, within an hour of each other. This full day is built for guests who want more than a visit: it is led by one of Pacôme's partner guides, a licensed guide and art historian specialised in the painters of the Côte d'Azur, chosen by Pacôme for this itinerary. The day opens on the hill of Cimiez with the Matisse Museum, continues with the Chagall Museum and its Biblical Message, then follows the painters west to the Fondation Maeght above Saint-Paul-de-Vence, with its Giacometti courtyard and Miró labyrinth.
The afternoon ends in the lanes of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, among the galleries, and, when a gallerist Pacôme knows is there, in a back room where the works are not on the walls. The order of the museums, the length of each stop and the balance between museums and galleries are adapted to the guests' taste: a day for lovers of Matisse, a day for collectors, a day for a family with a first curiosity. Pacôme designs the itinerary with you and remains your single point of contact before, during and after the day.
Led by one of Pacôme's partner guides, a licensed guide and art historian, selected for the day according to the guests' interests and language. Pacôme designs the day with you, checks the museums' opening days and remains your contact; the day is confirmed subject to his partner's availability.
The Matisse Museum in its Genoese villa among the olive trees, then the Chagall Museum, built around the seventeen canvases of the Biblical Message, with the mosaic and the stained glass of the auditorium.
One of Europe's great private foundations of modern art, above Saint-Paul-de-Vence: the Giacometti courtyard, the Miró labyrinth, the Braque pool and the exhibition of the season.
The ramparts and the lanes where Chagall is buried and where the galleries have taken over the village: a walk among them, and the doors that open when the guide knows whom to ask.
