I trained in art history, and the Riviera is where the twentieth century came to paint: Matisse and Chagall in Nice and Vence, Picasso in Antibes and Vallauris, the Maeght family in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Yves Klein and the school of Nice. The museums tell that story; the galleries and the studios continue it. Over the years I have built relationships with gallerists and artists who open their doors to my guests.
A private art day can be a collector's day, with meetings arranged in galleries that match what you are looking for, or a curious traveller's day, with a studio visit and the stories of the painters' houses. Either way, I guide the whole day: the Maeght Foundation, the Chapel of the Rosary in Vence, the Matisse and Chagall museums, and the lanes of Saint-Paul where the galleries are.
How I arrange it
Gallerists
A private meeting in a gallery in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Vence or Nice, arranged according to your interests: modern masters, contemporary painting, sculpture, photography.
Artists
A visit to a working studio in the hills or in Nice, when the artist is available, to see the work where it is made.
The museums
The Maeght Foundation, the Matisse and Chagall museums, the Picasso museum in Antibes, the Chapel of the Rosary: the backbone of the day, with a guide who studied them.
Good to know
- Price on request for the meetings; my guiding day is €750 per group. Galleries and artists receive you without obligation; purchases, if any, are made directly with them.
- Subject to the availability of the gallerists and artists on your dates; meetings are arranged a few weeks ahead.
- I introduce; I do not take commissions on artworks. The relationship between you and the gallery is yours.
- Entrance fees to museums and foundations are paid on site.

No. Collectors get meetings that match their interests; travellers who simply love art get doors opened and stories told. Both days are planned around your curiosity.
Can you arrange a visit to a specific artist or gallery?
Often, yes, if I know them or can reach them. Tell me who or what interests you and I will see what my relationships allow.
